The word "AWANA" stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." First Baptist is one of over 10,000 churches worldwide using the AWANA ministry to reach boys and girls with the good news of Jesus. Using team games, workbooks, awards and Bible study, AWANA makes Scripture memorization and the Bible fun. AWANA clubbers are divided into age level groups called cubbies, sparks and truth and training. AWANA is an exciting ministry which kids look forward to attending each week.
